5 – Minute Strategy to Double Your Energy
Lacking energy is NOT a fact of life.
Today I want to share with you one of my favorite 5-minute strategy to double your energy.
Many women seem to think low energy is normal. They down more coffee, caffeine pills, or energy drinks.
It happens gradually, so that you start to accept it as “normal,” that you’re rationing your energy, and doing the minimum, instead of chasing your dreams.
Everyday women tell me how tired and drained they feel. They want to know what I recommend to feel better.
I want to have a heart-to-heart conversation with you about something I’ve learned along the way, and it’s made a huge difference for me in both my health and my life.
Putting everyone else’s needs before your own is not only self-sabotage, it is incongruent for a woman who wants to optimize her hormone health.
Perhaps you don’t necessarily have the clarity on what your needs and more importantly your DESIRES are? But what I know for sure is that focusing on meeting the expectations and needs of others all the time is going to drain your energy.
If you have been feeling exhausted in the afternoons, wake up without feeling refreshed in the morning and are too tired to enjoy your evenings or weekends, you are likely missing out on a very important aspect of your hormone health…
Your Joy
…or what I like to call Vitamin J.
This is because your nervous system is designed to easily toggle between a sympathetic state (fight or flight) and a parasympathetic state (rest and repair). When you are experiencing joy ease, peace, contentment these positive emotions quite literally change your hormone balance and signal energy conservation and refueling.
However, when you are perpetually in a state of expenditure, doing for others, worrying about others demands for your time and attention this has a draining effect on your energy.
This is not by accident. It does not mean something is wrong with you. This is your hormones trying to give you a very important message.
I completely understand, but it truly doesn’t have to be this way, my sweet friend. I’ve been there, and so have many dozens of women I’ve worked with over the years in our program. They too were able to get their energy back while adding in more joy AND balancing their hormones naturally, with our help.
One of the ways I started to get my life back from exhaustion (when I was struggling with Hashimoto’s) was to recognize that my own self-sabotage looked like me stealing what I call “Vitamin J” time, until I realized that instead of doing that, I could actually schedule it.
What I did to get over this energy drain was to break out my time. I used these simple steps:
Reflect on how many minutes I was spending truly cherishing the activity (or inactivity) I was engaged with.
Then create a go-to list of things I love to do like listen to an inspiring song, read, lay down with my eyes closed, walk outside, call a friend.
Schedule a minimum of 3 of these per day even if only for 5 minutes at a time.
Create a Daily Time Breakout and Go-To List to create joyful moments.
Doing this gives you time to be accountable for your health, while also giving you a way to get your Vitamin met as well.
If you would like more ways to improve your hormone health, get your energy back, we would love to help.
