Key Strategies to Support and Strengthen Your Stomach Acid

New research has revealed that our most important health optimization living in 2023 is not eating healthy foods, not exercising, not even sleeping - it’s ABSORPTION

Does that surprise you?

This starts with the importance of getting key nutrients into your cells each and every day so that your hormones, your organs, and cells can function as designed to give you true Vitality,  clear thinking, restorative sleep, stable moods, all of the things that we want in our daily life.

When we think about nutrition, it starts with the foods that we're eating.

While that is critical, today we're gonna take it a step further and talk about the importance of HOW you are eating and the effect of your stomach acid.

Stomach acid is so critical and often overlooked when it comes to restoring hormone balance and optimizing your energy and your vitality for the long term.

I’ve supported dozens of women, where one of the key changes was increasing their stomach acid levels to optimal capacity so that it could actually work to denature proteins, separate minerals, and help your body absorb all of the iron, magnesium, and zinc that it needs in order to have optimal thyroid function.

During the experience of eating it is important to activate as many senses as possible prior to actually putting the food in your mouth.

This means being present to the smells or the aromas. If you're preparing or cooking food, your digestion actually starts well before that food enters your mouth. It starts when you begin to smell the food cooking in the oven.

Think of that Turkey dinner where we can all always smell the aroma of the Turkey baking or even the sounds of sauteed onions or garlic sizzling in a pan.

All of these things are meant to help prepare our digestive enzymes to get ready for the experience of processing our food.

In today’s busy lifestyle, it’s very common to skip these steps.  t This makes it even more important to emphasize slowing down and being present while you are consuming and eating your food, chewing thoroughly.

Did you know that the average person chews about three bites…chomp, chomp, chomp, swallow, and then down the hatchet the food goes?

Slowing your digestion starts in your mouth with thorough chewing, (almost liquefying your food 15-20 times) before you swallow.

It makes a monumental difference in supporting your digestion and allowing your stomach acid to do its job.

The next tip I’d like to share with you is that once this bolus of food and materials is chewed up in the mouth and goes down the esophagus into your stomach and is blended with our stomach acid, it is retained in the stomach until it's dispensed into the small intestine.

However, you only release about one teaspoon every 20 minutes into the small intestine to continue on that digestive journey.

It's no wonder that oftentimes you don't necessarily get the signal to slow down or that you're satisfied before we are consuming more food and going back for that second plate.

Just like my client, Christine, her number one objective was to feel more clearheaded and to release weight as she struggled with bloating for months.

Restoring her digestive fire and focusing on getting nutrients to her cells made a huge difference!

She shares “getting  accountability to focus on being present during mealtime, and other things to help support my stomach acid levels was so important for me.”

In one month's time, she released six pounds and no longer had bloating.
