Your Greatest Currency to Release Weight and Reduce Anxiety
Discover why Time is your greatest currency when it comes to releasing weight and reducing anxiety.
Most of us feel like we don’t have time to:
Prepare healthier meals.
Spend 15 minutes meditating in the morning.
Get outside for fresh air daily.
Research the root cause of why we have thyroid problems
Often, we feel constrained and overwhelmed by all of our responsibilities each day.
But in this week’s video, I want to offer you a new perspective…one to liberate you from seeing your “lack of time” as a bad thing.
A personal example: I’ve spent many years feeling completely overwhelmed by all of the things I felt responsible to do each day such as… making eggs for the girls before school, client sessions, responding to emails, team meetings, carpooling, pick up the house, put in a load of laundry, cooking taco dinner for the family, sign the permission slips and the list goes on.
However, not every minute of how you currently use your day has equal value. When you are in your 20s and 30s you may have enjoyed consistent, balanced health.
You were able to live with an all-hands-on-deck approach: get done what you need to get done, grind it out and rinse and repeat day after day.
You’ll do anything that’s required for your family, your career, and your loved ones because that’s what you have known.
What’s required in creating a transformation in your hormone health…to release weight and reduce anxiety for REAL is a shift in thinking about how you will use your time going forward.
Understanding that time is now your most precious currency, you get to embrace the fact that not every activity, project, or task has the same return on investment.
Now, you can’t afford to skip self-care. This is because your thyroid and hormone health require you to be in a parasympathetic state more often.
Your nervous system has two modes of operation. The first is the sympathetic (often described as the fight, flight, or flee response) and the second is the parasympathetic (rest, digest, and repair response).
When your body is in a sympathetic nervous system response it is intentionally suppressing optimal immune system function.
It is intentionally de-prioritizing adequate secretion of stomach acid and digestive enzymes which are necessary to bring on board key nutrients for thyroid and hormone health.
It is intentionally turning up the volume of norepinephrine and epinephrine in the brain that can lead to anxious thoughts, so you are hyper-aware of life-threatening situations.
Your body is brilliant and there is no faking out your nervous system.
For many of us, the constant running from task to task keeps up locked in the sympathetic nervous system mode ALL THE TIME.
What if your miraculous body is doing exactly what is designed to do given the environment it is being asked to survive in?
This means storing extra energy in the form of fat is essential because your body doesn’t know when the next nutrition supply will be made available.
This means a high level of excitatory neurotransmitters that leave you feeling anxious are on purpose.
The beautiful gift I have seen repeatedly in the women that we support is that when you make the decision to use your time differently, other people in your life benefit, AND your hormone health improves.
Like Theresa whose 17-year-old daughter learned how to do laundry before she leaves for college while she prioritized evening walks.
And Jeanine who expanded the role of the executive assistant so she could come to the office 30 minutes later each day and have a nourishing breakfast at home.
Are you starting to see what’s not working, but unsure what to do differently? That’s exactly what we’re here for.
If you would like more ways to improve your hormone health and get your energy back, I would love to help. Simply schedule a time to connect on a short phone call on my calendar so I can hear about your situation and explore resources to help you make a shift now.
