Broken Boats and Bodies
Today I want to share one of my favorite stories that I learned from my mentor, Tracy Harrison, the founder of the school of applied functional medicine about broken boats and bodies.
What the heck does this have to do with perhaps your health situation right now?
Well, this story illustrates so well what we see in conventional healthcare and why it isn’t adequate:
This is what the standard traditional health care model is, is faced with.
They're jumping in at the point of the broken boats and bodies and once we get to that point of having a severe enough disease and imbalance in our body, there's some dysfunction, there's some deficiency, or, there's some blockage in the way that our body is functioning, and this makes health resolution a harder problem to solve.
What functional medicine does and why I'm so passionate about the work that we do at Hinman Holistic is we really help empower women to understand what's happening further upstream.
In fact, it can even be fun. We can actually find choices and solutions to be, something that we enjoy and can add value to our life when we are prepared for it.
That's exactly what we do in helping women to feel their best so they can boost their energy feel truly confident in their health future and confident in their own skin, and feel good in their bodies.
So you can feel confident about the future of your health and not be worried about struggling with anxiety, not be worried about struggling with those pesky weight gain or other hormonal imbalances.
How do you want to approach your health in the long term?
Do you want to get ahead of it upstream so that we can avoid those downstream inevitable chronic diseases, things like cancers, Alzheimer's, and hypertension - all of these things do not happen overnight.
They all have been years, if not decades in the making and the first thing you could do is get ahead of this by looking further upstream and having the right tools and the skills and the support to navigate you on a different path forward.
If this inspires you, I definitely encourage you to book a balance call. Let's have a conversation and see how you can take control and be empowered in your health future.
