Have Your Cravings Gotten Worse?

Do you find yourself struggling with cravings that have gotten worse over the years?

Whether it is wine, sugar, or refined foods, you feel like you can't get a handle on it.

Maybe you're good for a while but then inevitably things fall off and it seems like the cravings are more powerful and controlling than ever.

If you're in that situation, you're not alone and this is not your fault. Don’t blame yourself.  Watch here as I share 4 areas to reflect on to reduce your cravings.

It's really that no one ever taught us that when our bodies are out of balance, we're going to see signs. Many of those signs come in the form of cravings because our body is constantly looking for nutrients - it's looking for that nourishment.

Your body is looking for balance so that it can work symbiotically.

As women, when we get into our forties and fifties, our lives are busier than ever before.

Perhaps we skip meals, we're on the go. We have more plates that we're spinning, more people that rely on us, important work to do, and many things that require us to perform at a high level.

We have a lot of stressors in our life, whether that be high stress or even just consistent, chronic lower levels of stress..

In fact, it's only logical that our body creates more signs of needing support, needing help, and needing balance.

For example, how well your liver detoxification is happening or not. Whether you are consistently getting enough nourishment and enough of those key nutrients or not, whether you’re consistently getting enough sleep or not, whether you’re getting enough hydration or not, and whether you have enough laughter and enjoyment in your life or not.

Whether you have enough moments to pause to take breaks, to have rest, to have relaxation, and downtime or not. These all make a difference if you’re experiencing increased symptoms and increased cravings.

If you're in that spot, I’ve been there. Many of us have, and there's nothing wrong with you.

It actually can be a great indicator of imbalance you are experiencing.

When you notice a higher level of cravings for example munchies at the end of the day, a  glass of wine to unwind and achieve relaxation mode or sugar or chocolate.

This is not a sign that your body is failing you. It's actually a sign that your body is signaling to you.

I encourage you to reflect on these 4 things and self-assess:

  • Your Sleep

    • How is your sleep been lately? Is it something that you need to prioritize differently?

  • Your Food

    • Are you eating the same foods over and over? Maybe you need some variety or, replenishment to your food choices.

  • Your Busyness

    • Are you giving yourself time to have pauses in the day? Are you taking time to unplug, to relax, to just be quiet, to be still?

  • Your Digestion.

    • Are you giving adequate space and time for all of your system's needs to be met? Are you giving our body that space to chew thoroughly, to slow down to thoroughly enjoy and be present at meal time, as opposed to eating in a distracted state?

Those are four things I want you to check in with yourself this week if you're noticing increasing cravings. We help support women all the time in the hormone solution community.

As always, if you're in a space like this and know you need help and want to be in the driver's seat and take control of your health.

Now is your time, it's time to take control and we are here to support you and make that happen.
